The national University System

Recently I had the distinct pleasure of an exclusive interview with Dr. Michael Cunningham an extraordinary Chancellor, the National University System. In fact,throughout his career, Dr. Cunningham has been recognized as a team builder and a topnotch organizational strategist.
Dr. Michael Cunningham joined the National University System on July 1, 2013 as president of the system’s flagship institution, National University, and he was named Chancellor of the National University System effective October 10,2013. After serving in both capacities for the past few years, he is now dedicating his attention completely as Chancellor.
The National University System is a network of accredited nonprofit education institutions serving higher education and K-12 students that includes National University, John F. Kennedy University, CityUniversity of Seattle, West MedCollege and the Division of Pre-College Programs . As President of National University, Dr. Cunningham led the University commitment to providing a world-class education and an exceptional student experience.
Dr. Michael Cunningham came to National University from San Diego State University, where he had been serving as Dean of the College of Business Administration.Dr. Cunningham, In the short time, he did an excellent job and continue. Dr. Cunningham entered the education industry after a highly successful business career that included 25 years as an entrepreneur and successful business leader.
He was the Founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Cunningham Graphics International from 1989 through 2000, a multinational graphics communication company which operated out of seven countries and employed approximately 2,000 employees.
I asked him several questions as the following:
Q. When did you join the National University system?
A. I joined the National University system in 2013 I mean 8 years ago.
Q. What is your experience?
A. I have experience in both, the Education and Business sectors.
Q. Would you please tell us few words about the Sanford programs?
A. Sanford Harmony Sanford Inspire and the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy, which are based on the vision of renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Q. What was your position before you joined the National University System?
A. I served as dean of the college of Business Administration at San Diego State University and Taught strategy and entrepreneurship courses at SDSU, Cal poly San Luis Obispo, and New York University.
Q. Please tell me about your business or company?
A. I was the, founder, chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Cunningham Graphics International from1989 -2000 with 2000 employees.
Q. My last question is about education, where did you earned your degree?
A. I earned my doctorate and master’s degree from New York University and my bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
