در 16 ژوئن در يك شب گرم و زيبا شهر پرتلند افتخار ميزباني خواننده اسطوره‌اي ميهنمان پريسا و همنوازان گروهش را در سالن پر شكوه اليوت هال چپل در ريد كالج داشت.
طرفداران پريسا فرصت يافتند تا از يك شب فراموش نشدني پر از احساس، سرشار از آواي ملكوتي پريسا و نوازندگان زبردست همراهش، لذت ببرند. كنسرت با سخنراني كوتاهي به وسيله ي خانم پريسا در 30/6 عصر آغاز شد. خانم پريسا در مورد ماهيت و ويژگيهاي موسيقي سنتي ايران و اهميت حمايت و گسترش آگاهي و ارزش اين سبك از موسيقي در خارج از كشور سخن گفت. او همچنين بر اهميت كار كردن با نسل جوان و آشنا ساختن آنها با موسيقي سنتي از سنين پايين تاكيد نمود.
خانم پريسا برنامه ي خود را در دو دستگاه بيات اصفهان و بيات ترك اجرا كرد. در قسمت اول خانم پريسا با اشعار زيبايي از مولا‌نا جلا‌ل‌الدين رومي در مايه ي بيات اصفهان همراه با ساز و آواز و چهار مضراب طرفداران خود را به وجد آورد.
نيمه ي دوم در بيات ترك با پيشدرامدي كردي آغاز شد. در اين قسمت خانم پريسا علا‌وه بر اشعار زيباي رومي‌از اشعار دلنواز حافظ شيراز نيز استفاده كرده و تعدادي از آهنگهاي به ياد ماندني خود را همراه با ساز و آواز و بخصوص چهار مضراب زيبايي از آهنگساز جاوداني ايران مرحوم استاد پرويز مشكاتيان اجرا نمودند.
در قسمت پايان برنامه بنا به تقاضاي افراد حاضر در كنسرت خانم پريسا ترانه ي محبوب و زيباي خود “پير فرزانه” را با احساسي دل انگيز اجرا كرده و با همخواني و كف زدن‌هاي موزون مردم سالن كنسرت را مملو از انرژي ساخته و طرفداران خود را به با شور و انرژي غير قابل تصوري به اوج برد.
خانم پريسا و همراهانش در حالي كه سالن كنسرت را در ميان تشويق ممتد هواداران خود ترك ميكردند از استقبال فراوان ايرانيان و هنر دوستان مقيم پرتلند تقدير كرده و انرژي و صميميت آنها را در مقايسه با ايالت‌هاي ديگري كه برنامه اجرا كرده بودند فرا‌تر دانستند. چشمان اشك الود پاره‌اي از طرفداران و شور قشنگي كه در ميان جمعيت حاضر احساس ميشد حكايت از شبي زيبا و فراموش نشاني در كنار خواننده‌اي محبوب و فراموش نشدني داشت و گواه اين بود كه موسيقي سنتي هنوز هم طرفداران خود را در خارج از ايران حفظ كرده است.
اين برنامه توسط >كانون انديشه< تهيه شده بود كه براستي گل كاشتند و برنامه بي نظيري ارائه دادند.

Parissa and Hamnavazan Ensemble in Portland
On June 16th, on a warm and beautiful Saturday night, Portland and Andisheh Center were the proud host of the legendary Parissa and Hamnavazan ensemble at the magnificent Eliot Hall Chapel, Reed College. 
Parissa’s fans enjoyed an unforgettable and divine evening with her and the talented performers of the Hamnavazan Ensemble. The concert started at 6:30 pm with Parissa’s brief speech. She talked to her fans about the nature and main characteristics of Persian classical music and addressed the importance of supporting, and spreading the awareness and values of this genre of music outside the country. She also emphasized on the importance of working with the younger generation and familiarizing them with this music since early ages.
The performance was broken into two Dastgahs or Modes: Bayat-e Isfahan and Bayat-e Turk. The first half, Bayat-e Isfahan, included three Tasnif (rhythmic music accompanied by singing), three Saz va avaz (rhythmic free motif with improvised rhythmic-free singing) and a Chaharmezrab (rhythmic music but rhythmic-free or no singing) pieces. All poems were by Rumi.
The second half, Bayat-e Turk, included a Kurdish Pishdaramad (rhythmic prelude which sets the mood) two old Tasnif (rhythmic music accompanied by singing), three Saz va avaz (rhythmic free motif with improvised rhythmic-free singing) pieces and a Chaharmezrab (rhythmic music but rhythmic-free or no singing) piece composed by the late Maestro Parviz Meshkatian. Poems in this section were by Rumi and Hafez.
As her their last piece, and by the request of many fans, Parissa performed her famous and popular piece “Pir-e Farzaneh” accompanied by the audience’s collaboration with the choir and rhythm which filled the room with an unbelievable level of energy.
The performers left the hall in the constant applaud of the fans, commenting that they felt a higher energy being reciprocated by Portlanders compared to the other cities they’d visited; and the many tearful eyes among the audience was enough proof that the Portland fans were impressed by the performance as well.
Andisheh Center (A.K.A. Kanoon-e Andisheh) is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 for the purpose of celebrating the diversity and richness of Iranian heritage and highlighting this group’s contributions to/within the larger Oregon & Southwest Washington communities.
