در سوگ جانباختگان سانحه هوایی اخیر ایران
دل ما شکسته. از مرگ بی گناهان و از دروغگویی…
در باورهای ایرانیان نظم جهان برپایه راستی و راستگویی استوار شده است. زمانی که دروغی گفته می شد نظم جهان نیز در هم می ریزد. می بینیم که حاصل چنین دروغگویی امروزه با همه چه کرده است.
ما برنامه ایی برای دانشجویان و اساتید و هموطنان و انجمن دانشگاه آریامهر/شریف برگزار کردیم. هم با هم و درکنار هم. پیام ما به دانشجویان این بود که این دانشگاه و مرکز ما همراه شما است. به هموطنان گفتیم که این دانشگاه پشتیبان شما است. مرکز ما ایران کوچکی است که دور از تنش و با صلح درهایش باز برای هر ایرانی با هر عقیده و مذهب است.
Our hearts are broken, because of the innocent who lost their lives in the Ukranian jet, and because of the lie we were fed.
Ancient Iranian believed in (Avestan) Asha / (Old Persian) Arta, that is a world that was sustained by TRUTH. The LIE (Drauga), brought chaos and disorder to the universe. This is what has happened today in Iran.
Last night at the Dr. Jordan Center for Persian Studies at UC Irvine, along with SUTA (Aryamehr/Sharif University Alumni), and the UCI – Iranian American Faculty Staff Association brought everyone together. Doug Haynes, Rameen Talesh, Neda Moaydedi, and Mark Mark LeVine, among others came and spoke to students and staff and told them that here we support the Iranians and they should feel safe. Niloufar Shiri and Anthony played an amazing piece on Kamancheh and piano, and Kian had us meditate for a minute. I thank Rameen Talesh who were the minds behind this gathering, and Omid Esmaili of SUTA (Aryamehr/Sharif University Alumni).
