Iranian actor Behrouz Vossoughi was involved in a car accident Tuesday in San Francisco, Calif., and was hospitalized briefly as a result.
Vossoughi was picking up his wife from work when he was allegedly rear-ended by another vehicle. The impact was so great that it caused the 74-year-old actor to be hospitalized due to his high blood pressure.
Vossoughi had planned to attend a film festival Wednesday to highlight his recent film, but was forced to miss the event.
Vossoughi’s wife took him home from the hospital the following day.
His latest film Rhino Season, directed by Bahman Ghobadi, features Monica Bellucci, Yilmaz Erdogan and Iranian-Swedish singer Arash Labaf. The film has had international acclaim and nominated for several film festival awards, including the Toronto Film Festival, where the film premiered earlier this year.
Javanan Radio will interview Behrouz Vossoughi live Thursday on “Gap” with Javanan Magazine editor-in-chief Mehdi Zokaei.
