Persian New Year, also known as Nowruz, marks the beginning of spring and has been celebrated by people from many diverse ethnic communities and religious backgrounds for thousands of years. The men and women of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department join me in recognizing the contributions of the Iranian American community in Los Angeles, and offer our best wishes in commemorating the start of the New Year and Nowruz holiday.
